Jones (Hewitt, TX USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Jim Dunlop 7828 Russell Banjo/Uke Capo (Electronics) The way the low-tech eyelets are set into the stretch band that reaches around the neck makes it far too easy to scratch your instrument's finish. There is a flap designed to go between the eyelets and the wood, but it's a major headache to keep the flap perfectly in place at the same moment you're trying to stretch the entire thing and hook it around the instrument's neck. The 7828 is just surprisingly poorly engineered. It's too inexpensive to justify the hassle of returning it, but I don't intend to keep using it and risk scratching my ukulele. I guess I got what I paid for. I'll undoubtedly purchase a better capo. I strongly suggest that you do, too. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Jim Dunlop 7828 Russell Banjo/Uke Capo (Electronics) This is a simple, cheap option for a capo. I just recieved it today and spent a few minutes playing with it on my soprano ukulele. It isn't as easy to use as other capos, but once you figure out how to use it properly it's a breeze. Another plus is that you don't have to remove the capo to put it on another fret. I'm recieving a baritone ukulele tomorrow, so I'll update if I have any issues using the capo with a different neck size. So far, I recommend it if you don't want to spend a fortune on a capo and don't mind taking an extra few seconds to put it on correctly. If you perform with a ukulele you may need something quicker to use, but using it while practicing at home it would work perfectly. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Jim Dunlop 7828 Russell Banjo/Uke Capo (Electronics) The only bad thing is that the metal eyelets can scratch the back of the ukulele if you don't position the extra strap under them just right. |
