For electric, it's a tele. I've tried Korgs and Yamahas, which failed because they were meant for keyboards, and they had definite tone suck. I've tried ernie balls, vpjr and the stereo pedal, and to my ear, they added just a touch of treble (I know, how can a passive volume pedal add treble??, but that's what I heard) and felt rickety. This dunlop though, is totally clear, clean, smooth and solid, with a non-linear taper. It has a 250 Pot. It works at either the beginning or the end of the signal chain, which contains both buffered and unbuffered pedals. (So that ernie ball jazz about passive and active signals is just marketing spoo) The DVP-1 found a home at the end of the chain. It's such a simple piece of kit. Volume swells are smooth, volume control, sustain extending, and trem effects are easy. It really is a lot of fun. I can't recommend it enough. On the plus side, it is quiet, sturdy, has a reasonable footprint, does not suck tone, and it is passive. But the feel was not quite right for me: Even with the adjustable tension - I couldn't lock it in to where I wanted it. I'm very used to the Ernie Ball pedals, and I also like the new Morley Volume Plus. But to be fair, pedal tension is a pretty personal factor, and this might easily be a 5 star product for you. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Jim Dunlop DVP1 Dun Grip Rubber Tread Vol Peda (Electronics) After debating between this and the jr., I'm so glad I got this one. It is smooth and silent operating and looks awesome! |
