This review is from: Jim Dunlop 7007SI Dun Ergo Lok Strap Syst (Electronics) First let me say that I have tried every strap lock mechanism out there in my 40 years of playing guitar. The problems I ran into with the "popular strap lock" systems included: 1.) Require special hardware be mounted to each guitar 2.) Extend the strap away from the guitar body, can bend the strap button screw if excessive force is placed downward on the guitar (I used to jump around a lot when I played). 3.) Did not fit in most guitar cases with the strap on the guitar After my tests of the other products, I eventually came up with a solution on my own. This was to use a metal washer on on the outside of the strap button to keep the strap from coming off. This solution had 1 major drawback, you could not remove the strap from the guitar without unscrewing the strap button. As a result I would up purchasing a strap for each guitar. Mostly. Are they cheaply made pieces of plastic garbage? Definitely. Perhaps if these were made out of a better material, they would be good. As it stands, this is made out of two cheap pieces of plastic (one of mine cracked). Then there's the cost factor. There is no way this $0.10 worth of plastic should sell for $4. That's an obscene price for such a low quality product. I will never buy this again, and would caution others to steer clear of this. The two piece can come a part which can be slightly annoying- but with that said so far they've worked with no coming apart while on my guitar, I am sorta waiting for one of them to come apart however... but so far so good.
