Product Description

The Dunlop Jazz III Guitar Pick has been an important element to create Eric Johnson's fluid and seamless style. To create the Eric Johnson Jazz III pick, Dunlop laser scanned a vintage Jazz III from Eric's collection and recreated it with the most advanced molding techniques available. The result? A Jazz III pick with an even more refined and smooth tip, more flexibility, and a matte finish with raised logos offering you an incredible gripping surface.

For about twenty years I've used the original Dunlop Jazz lll picks. Eric Johnson referred to them in his first instructional video. After seeing these new picks advertised in a guitar magazine, I thought Hmmm, can they reall be that different from the Jazz lll's. Upon getting my EJ's, I plugged in , tuned out, and turned on. I experienced guitar nirvana. These picks are the next step in plectrum evolution. For about 15 minutes I switched between the Jazz 3's and the new EJ picks for like one minute intervals. After that, I gathered all my Jazz 3's, placed them in a storage device, and packed them away. Then it hit me. I was loyal to the original Dunlops for 20 YEARS! As your guitar playing friend, I advise you to get these picks! After you try them ONE TIME, you will swear off any other picks.
If not, send them to me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Might work for you, didn't work for me, December 13, 2011

I love Eric Johnson. I also love trying new picks. This one didn't work for me. I'm not saying it won't work for you; that'd be a stupid thing to say.

It does feel different to a standard Jazz III. I felt it was thinner than the standard Jazz III. There was no additional grip or stability.

However, I didn't enjoy playing with it as much as with a standard Jazz III.

But like I said, that's just me.

You might want to try Tortex Jazz picks, Wegen Picks, or even making your own.

That said, I'm glad I tried this pick out.

As guitar is entirely about feel and personal preference, I can recommend trying as many picks as possible. Good luck rockers.

Like the other reviewer said, this pick picks up (haha) where the Jazz III left off. This pick is not for a strummer (yes can strum with it, but get a thinner pick if thats your main thing), this pick is think and has minimal give. This pick is a metal heads dream. You can shred with this pick like to other. This has a relatively sharp point compared to other picks and that has helped my picking become a lot cleaner and more articulate. The matte finish and raised lettering really help a lot in preventing the pick slipping. FYI another trick i learned is to take a utility knife and dig grooves on both sides of the pick where you hold it...even more grip.

BEST PICK EVER...When was the last time you only had to pay $4 for the best of something?!?
